On the island of São Vicente, there are nice walks along beaches and through the historical city centre of Mindelo Town. 

The Mountain Range builds up from sea level to 750 m and accordingly offers demanding tracks to summits and small mountain oases, protected beaches and totally dry desert valleys. The described tracks are simple and some of them poorly or never maintained as they are used less and less because of the draught and the construction of new roads.

Out of very many, we selected 12 safe tracks and hope to have found the most beautiful ones in terms of landscape and view.

Tracks, where climbing is required, and tracks over irrigation channels called levadas are never used. Whenever you find yourself on one of those, you can be sure that you lost the right track and have to go back immediately!
